Another phenomenal essay highlighting some of the limitations of modern day business coaching. Unfortunately, a lot of contemporary coaches lack the business acumen and experience with growing and developing a business, so they focus on the soft skills of people development. While this “people first orientation”, as I like to call it, is beneficial to cultivate the proper mindset to grow and expand one’s business it has the focus backwards! This is why I endorse and teach focusing on proper business principles first, which once implemented and engrained help grow one’s business and mindset from the inside out. Change the business to change the people.
